I grew up in Smyrna Ga. I have had every intention to try to capture my memories of my childhood and teenage years somewhere, I guess my blog would be the best place for that.

I have been wanting to drive around Smyrna and take pictures of the few places that are still left that hold memories for me, more on that in a later post.

In the meantime I have decided to try a brainstorming exercise to try to think of every person, place and or thing about Smyrna and my experiences there.

Finally Cobb county has good pizza again, it’s called Cangelosi’s

Several years ago I was really bummed out when Dante’s pizza later known as Tomaselli’s Pizza finally called it quits. I guess Dante just got too old, or the new place (Austell Rd. next to South Cobb High School) where his son-in-law moved the restaurant to just could not be properly supported by the surrounding demographics?

Dante’s Pizza was located on Pat Mell Rd. next to Cobb Center shopping center, a place with many childhood memories for those who grew up in Smyrna Ga.

When Dante’s closed I was sure no pizzeria would ever come along to replace it. Well no one could duplicate Dante’s unique taste and atmosphere, but I was pleasantly surprised when my family decided to try out a local pizzeria that opened in my home town of Powder Springs.

Cangelosi’s Pizzeria is a true Italian NY style pizza, when we got a taste of their pizza we where so happy that once again Cobb county has a true Italian restaurant again.

Now we have not tried their entire menu yet, but based on the taste of the pizza at Cangelosi’s, I am sure we will frequent their fine establishment.
